To establish what qualifies we ask you to answer a simple set of questions. If your application qualifies, we then take it to our Steering Group for review and approve your business as a Future Enterprise Resident.

We take a targeted approach to Social Value, tailoring our efforts to the specific needs of stakeholders, local communities, and resident businesses at each site. For MAKE IT Barking, we co-designed a Social Value SLA with the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham, aligning with local economic priorities while reflecting our values in creativity, arts, wellness, and sustainability. We report annually on outcomes including sector support, equality, affordability, education and wellbeing, benefiting both residents and the wider community. Our diverse programming includes workshops, networking, arts and culture events, wellness activities, and business support, delivered in-house and via professional partnerships. To support SMEs needing extra help, we run the ‘Future Enterprise’ scheme, offering subsidized workspace, unlimited facility access, and educational opportunities in exchange for community-focused Social Value contributions like apprenticeships and peer to peer support. To date, these Social Value initiatives have been self-funded. In April 2025, we began establishing a registered charity to expand our capacity, access funding, and enhance these programmes further.
